Mary Elsie Pearson
Mary spent a lifetime shaping conservation efforts in Seattle's Puget Sound. Working closely with friend and neighbor Emily Haig. Other affiliations include Seattle Mountaineers, the Nature Conservancy, and Washington Arboretum Foundation.
Eric Holger Pearson
Eric was a lifelong mountaineer. He carried a large format Graflex camera into the mountains. His photographic imagery depicts everyday life in undeveloped Pacific Northwest wilderness. His family lived in logging camps, eventually settling in Seattle in 1923.
The Collection
Some of the rarest photographs depicting Pacific Northwest history are kept in this collection. A romantic story of everyday life in early century mountaineering, conservation and Northwest timber.
